Harvest Date: Late March to Mid- April

Harvest Location: Hangzhou, Zhejiang

Elevation: 800m (2,625 ft )

Cultivar: Seed-Jiu Keng Qun Ti Zhong; Cutting-Long Jing 43

Our Organic Long Jing is produced in the high mountain organic tea garden in Lin An of Hangzhou. (Lin An is around 60km to the west of Xi Hu (West Lake), and was the old capital of China in Nan Song Dynasty. Hangzhou was named Lin An at that time).

The tea garden is located at an altitude of 800m. It was planted by the seed growing Jiu Keng Qun Ti Zong (鸠坑群体种) in the 1990s. (The other tea cultivar Long Jing 43 is bred by cutting). This tea garden has been certified organic since 2005. The tea's outstanding quality is due primarily to the elevation of the tea garden, organic farming techniques, and the rich gene source of the tea plants.

The tea is processed using the classic Long Jing frying process. It gives a distinct roasted bean and orchid-like flavor (local Hangzhou people call it 兰花豆香 Lan Hua Dou Xiang).
