From the remote, mist-draped heights of Long Feng Xia (龍鳳峽)—Dragon Phoenix Gorge—comes this exceptional Spring 2024 High Mountain Oolong, a tea that captures the crisp vitality of early spring in Taiwan’s central mountains.
Located in the Shanlinxi (杉林溪) region of Nantou County, Long Feng Xia is one of Taiwan’s most revered high-elevation growing areas. This tea was harvested in early April 2024 at an altitude of 1800 meters, where low temperatures, thick morning mists, and sharp day-night temperature contrasts create ideal conditions for producing deeply aromatic and flavor-rich leaves.
Crafted from the Qing Xin (青心) cultivar—Taiwan’s most prized varietal for high mountain oolong—this tea underwent a light 15% oxidation and a minimal roast, allowing the purity of the spring leaf to shine through. The result is a bright, layered, and supremely elegant tea that beautifully expresses both season and place.
Long Feng Xia sits at the upper reaches of Shanlinxi’s tea zone and is known for producing some of Taiwan’s most refined high mountain oolongs. The Spring 2024 harvest in particular benefits from a cool, extended growing period, yielding thick, supple leaves packed with aromatic complexity and sweetness.
This tea is best brewed gongfu-style, where its nuances unfold gradually over multiple infusions, starting light and floral, then deepening into creamy, buttery textures and subtle fruit tones. It’s a tea that feels both uplifting and grounding, a perfect companion for mindful moments.
Whether you’re a seasoned high-mountain oolong drinker or new to the world of Taiwanese teas, this 2024 Spring Long Feng Xia is a masterclass in terroir, craftsmanship, and seasonal energy—a cup of mountain air, captured at its freshest.
