About the event

Recently, fellow NYTS member David Edelman, Forest Hills historian Michael Perlman, and founder of NYTS Roy Lamberty visited with Kumar, owner of Jade Eatery. Behind Jade Eatery lies an abandoned tea garden that was first opened in 1912 and later abandoned during the 1960s. The three discussed Kumar's vision for the tea garden and the possibilities for collaboration with NYTS to coordinate tea ceremonies at this historic site.

Also discussed were the next steps for restoring & beautifying the long-abandoned historic tea garden.

NYTS volunteered to assist in the cleanup and beautification of the historic tea garden on Sunday, May 7th, from 4 pm-6 pm. After the volunteers' hard work, Roy will host a gongfu tea session for all the volunteers, featuring the 2023 harvest of the legendary West Lake Dragowell tea just from Hangzhou, China.
