Virtual Discussion with Rajiv Lochan

Rajiv Lochan received an M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry from Allahabad University in 1973. 

In 1974 he joined the tea industry, spending 3 years in South India and 15 years in Darjeeling.  

He has been employed with Jayshree Tea, Longview Tea, and Seeyok Tea Company.  

Highlights of his career include;

Produced 5 consecutive record crops at Darjeeling's Seeyok Tea Estate;

1985 - 1,11,111 Kgs.

1986 - 1,21,121 Kgs.

1987 - 1,23,321 Kgs.

1988 - 1,38,831 Kgs.

Made record crop ever produced by Phuguri Tea Estate in Darjeeling in 1990 as 2,11,500 Kgs.

Established Riverview Tea Estate at Sujali in Dinajpur new tea growing area of Bengal in 1991. 

Took over the possession of Avongrove Tea Estate which was lying closed for 27 years for Longview Tea Company Ltd. in Darjeeling through court cases in 1992 and put it on rails back again. 

Quality Darjeeling tea manufacturing at Jungpana Tea Estate and AmbooMa Tea Estate during 1993.

Planted 600 acres new garden Kumarika Tea Estate (Ananyashree) in Dinajpur during 1994 to 1997, for Jayshree Tea & Industries Ltd., a B.K. Birla group company.

Currently planting teas at Doke Organic Farm in Kishangunj area of Bihar since 1998 for own plantations and exporting & importing teas 

worldwide.
