Rougui is a Wuyi Oolong tea classified as a Yan Cha or Rock Tea The name literally means Cinnamon. Rougui is a very old tea type, highly prized for its rich flavors. It was first developed during the Qing Dynasty and one of the most common Oolong varietals grown in Wuyi.
The material for this rougui was harvested in the Spring of 2019 in Lianhua Feng (Lotus Peak), a region well known for producing high-grade yancha. The tea trees grow on narrow strips of land between rocky cliffs. resulting in a dark amber brew with a rich, smooth and sweet taste with mineral notes and lingering aftertaste.
